Share your content with a widget

Want to include your feed (from your blog, twitter, flickr, youtube, vimeo) on your blog or website? Or want to have your feeds available in a widget for others to include on their own website or blog?

widgetWidgetbox have a nifty blidget that you can create yourself, customise and then copy the code into your blog or site… and taadah… there’s your latest updated feed presented in the widget with your logo.

We have a flokka highlights content feed blidget on entrepreneurette (pictured here).

There’s a free version with limited customability (like ours) or you can pay the $3.99 a month for even more customisation, tabs and extra settings including removing the widgetbox branding.

When you create a widget it’s also added to the widgetbox gallery like this so anyone else can add it to their site too (again driving traffic back to your blog).

This also means you can search the gallery for other great content sites (or news, games, cartoons, weather, time zone clocks etc) and add them to your site. (for free!)

Very clever!

Google Alerts - what is the online world saying about you?

Why waste time googling your company’s name to see what’s been said about you, when you can set up google alerts  (it’s free and easy to set up) and receive email updates (on time, daily or weekly) based on your search terms.

Google alerts are a great way to keep track of any mention in the media of your company, your product… your service description… your industry, your own name…the book you wrote… your heroine…. kind of like your own media clipping service - very cool!

SlideShare - sharing your ideas with the world

What it is:  SlideShare lets you share your presentations and ideas with the world. You can share publicly or privately.

How to leverage slideshare:
- upload your best presentations (or create some especially) to share your expertise; or as a smart viral marketing tool.
- Embed the link on your website or blog for potential or exisiting customers to view your slides
- download relevant slideshows to add to your own presentations (or website or blog)

Look for: The slideshow on ‘Death by Powerpoint’ (already viewed 345,000 times) makes for a valuable tutorial on how to make a great slide presentation.
Check out ‘Meet Henry’ for a fabulous example of how you can use slideshare for smart promotion of your business. Meet Henry has been viewed 107,000 times.

In a nutshell: YouTube with slides instead of video.

What really leads to success?

If you’re wondering what really leads to success, you’re not alone. Richard St. John tells the story on this video how he was once asked by a young girl, “What really leads to success?”. Even though he had achieved success, he couldn’t tell her how he did it. To answer her question he spent 10 years interviewing over 500 successful people, including Martha Stewart, Richard Branson, Russell Crowe, and the Google founders. After analyzing all the data, Richard discovered the 8-Traits that lead to great success.
